Rolston the Bruin

The Trade: New York Islanders trades Brian Rolston and Mike Mottau to the Bruins for Yannik Riendeau and Marc Cantin

New york gets two players playing in the ECHL for Boston. but are both young prospects. Riendeau is a previous QMJHL player who got 126 points in 64 games in his last season in the QMJHL. This year Ruendeau has 29 points in 30 games playing for The Reading Royals of the ECHL. Cantin has far less with 6 points in 16 games for the Reading Royals in the ECHL

Boston gets a struggling overpaid RW in Rolston who has dipped quite a bit in his old age having only 9 points in 50 games (including one as a Bruin). Mike Mottau, another older player, has also been struggling. Mottau currently has 2 points in 30 games (one with Boston). The only good explanation is for more depth and experience in the lines.
