A Captain's Return
This morning Jonathan Toews skated for his fourth day, 3rd in a row with his teammates. This is always a good sign for anyone with an injury. Toews will be missing his 10th straight game today after the concussion he received but the Blackhawks will be glad to have him back as soon as possible as they're 6th in the west and are looking upward. Toews' 57 points in 59 games can only help them as they try to gain ground.
Though they would love to have his scoring ability back, that's not all that Toews brings to the table. Even missing games he sits 6th in the league in faceoff wins with 675. Toews proves to be great in all aspects of his game with killer two-way play. Off the ice Toews has a great influence in the locker room (hint the "C" on his chest).
Having him back can only help the Blackhawks as they continue to look like a powerhouse. Toews joins fellow Chicago stars Hossa, Sharp, Kane, Keith, Seabrook and Leddy as they push to gain ground in the standings and have a great playoff run.
Toews is currently eyeing a return for Tuesday's game at home vs their Division rival St. Louis Blues. It will be a true test for Toews and the rest of the Blackhawks as the St. Louis Blues are currently 1st overall in the west. Though looking at the Tuesday return Toews of course gives no promises and is listed as day-to-day.
