Rad-ical Mistake
David Poile has announced that Alexander Radulov and Andrei Kostitsyn will not be playing in Game 3 for Nashville and it will be up to Barry Trotz if they even play in Game 4. Scratching two of their top players when already down two games is absolutely insane! The reason GM Poile provides is that the two players violated a set of team rules. Although he refuses to specify (and I completely agree with not throwing the media such a juicy bone at this time of year), the Nashville GM says that the rules were well understood by the players and there was no excuse for breaking them. If I should hazard a guess based on past Rad-ical behaviour, I would think that the Russian All-Star got more than a little frustrated with dropping the first two games of the series. Remember that he already lost out in the KHL playoffs earlier this spring. I believe that he ripped out the team in the locker room after the game for the loss, possibly targeting individuals. Kostitsyn likely got wrapped up in the heat too and started making his own thoughts known on how they lost the game. Needless to say that it must have been pretty bad for Poile to scratch both of them for the upcoming game when their season could be on the line. At this point I think that scratch them or dont, if this is what happened, the team is definately shaken up and chemistry shattered. Nashville is on the brink folks and I believe Phoenix is set to sweep up the remains.
