Paul Carey was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the 5th round, 135th overall. Carey is a great stick-handler with a great shot. He has decent size at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, and he is always one of the 1st to join the rush. However he is inconsistent offensively and his defensive play and play without the puck needs work. He will have to improve on these to have any chance on having an NHL career.
Colorado Signing Rating: C, Good offensive upside, but needs work on defence.
