The pacific division is growing closer as is the end of the season. The top four teams are hovering within a point of each other. The final day of the season is probably going to be quite a game changer for who gets in and who hits the links. Divisional games will play a huge role in the final standings of the group. The coveted third place position is up for grabs with six or seven games remaining for teams.

15 Points

Masterson - San Jose Sharks forward Tommy Wingels is the club's 2012 nominee for the Bill Masterson Memorial trophy.

Half a Millenium - Sharks defensemen Dan Boyle has 499 career NHL points with seven regular season games remaining.

Back-to-Back - San Jose forward Logan Couture has recorded 30 goals in back-to-back seasons.

Sign - The Pheonix Coyotes have signed Niagara University sophomore forward Scott Arnold to a two-year entry-level contract.

Suspended - Coyotes captain Shane Doan has been suspended 3 games for a hit on Dallas forward Jaimie Benn that occurred on Tuesday night.

400 - Phoenix coach Dave Tippett won his 400th game as an NHL bench boss.

Maintaining - Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick has been huge in the late season surge by maintaining a 1.98 GAA.

Heating Up - Kings forward Anze Kopitar has recorded 7 goals and 6 assists over his last 12 games.

Shorthanded - With 3 shorthanded goals this season, Kings forward Mike Richards ranks 7th in the NHL for PK tallies

Pick-up - The Dallas Stars have signed forward Reilly Smith to a 3-year entry-level contract. Smith had 48 points in 39 games for Miami University (Ohio).

Ceremony - The Stars honoured the life of former defensemen Karlis Skrastins on Saturday. Skrastins died in the Lokomotiv plane crash this past September.

Road Trip - To end the month of March the Dallas Stars embark on a four-game road trip. The trip begins with all three western Canadian teams and concludes with their division rival Sharks.

Nominee - Anaheim Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller has been nominated for the 2012 Bill Masterson Memorial Trophy. He is making his club record 69th start tonight versus the Bruins.

Penalty? - Anaheim forward Corey Perry has 38 more penalty minutes than tough guy George Parros.

Parros and the boys.

Not Enough - Despite an excellent 2012 portion of the season, the Ducks remain 11 points out of a playoff spot meaning that they are probably not going to make the top eight.

Divisional Games:

  1. San Jose @ Anaheim - Wednesday, March 28
  2. San Jose @ Phoenix - Thursday, March 29
  3. Anaheim @ Phoenix - Saturday, March 31
  4. Dallas @ San Jose - Saturday, March 31
What to Watch:
Divisional Games - Likely to be the decider for the playoffs
Jonas Hiller - Playing exceptional as of late
Logan Couture - Great start to a career
