Standings Update

Looking at this week's standings we see that there is a good chance that we could see a switch of powers. New York Rangers have been looking rather weak lately going 4-4-2 in their last 10 and losing their last 3. While on the other hand, Pittsburgh is surging getting 9 straight wins putting them only 2 points behind New York Rangers. With the probable return of "You Know Who", Pittsburgh really looks like it will most likely become the new number 1 in not just the division, but the conference.

15 Points

-Who Needs goals?: Jacob Josefson has yet to score a goal for the Devils, but he continues to contribute. Josefson has 4 assists in his last 6 games.

-March of the Penguins: With their win today, The Pittsburgh Penguins have extended their Winning streak to 9 games!

-Shorthanded? No Problem!: Being shorthanded doesn't seem to bug the Devils as they have 14 shorthanded goals so far this season.

-Kolvalchuk Goaltron 400: Big milestone coming up for the Russian sniper as he is only 2 goals off of 400 goals in his NHL career.

-Halmo Signed: Owen Sound LW Mike Halmo was signed saturday to an entry level contract by the Islanders. The undrafted forward has 40 goals and 84pts this season

-2 Minutes of Pain: In the last 2 minutes of his game on saturday, rookie Anders Nilsson let in 2 goals against NJD to give them the 2-1 win. Both goals were within 14 seconds.

-Defense Full of Milestones: The Philadelphia Flyers has D full of milestones. Pronger is 2pts away from 700 (though likely won't reach it this season), Timonen has reached 500pts and is also waiting on 400 assists (4 away), Meszaros has reached 200 points and Carle is 3 away from 200 points. All of these D are injured currently except Carle.

-No Powerplay?: On Saturday the Maple leafs went to the Penalty box twice, but the Flyers got no power play. This is the first game without a power play for the Flyers since Feb. 21 2008

-Show Stopper: Bryzgalov has been killer as of late, Bryz has 2 consecutive shutouts and 3 in his last 4. His shutout streak currently is 136:13.

-Claude Giroux The Star: Claude Giroux appears to have been taking lessons from Datsyuk as he dekes the pants off of Gustavsson on Saturday. This makes him 4 for 6 this season.

-The Return....Again: Sidney Crosby has been penciled in to return Thursday. The question now is, how long will he last this time?

-Comfy for Despres: Despres has been recalled once again, but unlike last time he looked comfortable. Despres logged 15:12 in that game and had 2 shots on goal.

-Nabokov & Biron, Vets of The Crease: If he's playing today, Nabokov will reach his 600th game of his NHL career. Biron is also close to a milestone as he is 3 games away from 500 games.

-Return Wreckers: As Turco made his return to the NHL today, the Pittsburgh Penguins beat his new Bruins team 5-2.

-Shall we Dance?: All 5 teams of the Atlantic Division play tonight with 4 playing eachother! (NYIvsNYR, PHIvsNJD, PITvsBOS)

Who To Watch
Bryzgalov: With a killer 3 shutouts in the last 4 games, can he continue?
Crosby: He will return again on Thursday, can he put up a better show than last time?
Rangers/Penguins: Can the Rangers hold? Can the Pens catch up?
Letang: Another big Pen looking to return, quieted by Crosby.
Jagr: Told to take it easy due to injury, he will play 4th line for The Flyers for now.
