Kitchener Captain Signs With Dusseldorf

The captain of the Ontario Hockey League's; Kitchener Rangers, Michaeal Catenacci has signed with Dusseldorf of the German Elite League. The 21 year old center finished his final year in the OHL by leading the Rangers all the way to the Western Conference final in playoffs where they lost to the London Knights in 4 games. Catenacci isn't the biggest hockey player around, as he is only 5-foot-7 and only weighs in at 176 pounds, but each season he was progressed and become a much better player on both ends of the ice. His offensive numbers have increased each season and the young forward is continuing to become a better hockey player. In the 2011-12 season, Catenacci put the puck in the net 25 times and assisted of 44 goals for 69 points in 52 games. He was second on the Rangers in points, first in assists and third in goals. He was also a +20 on the season. Over his OHL career, Catenacci totaled 64 goals, 108 assists for 172 points in 236 games. The undrafted forward spent four days at the Toronto Maple Leafs rookie camp this past off-season after being invited but he was not offered a contract afterwards.

Dusseldorf Signing Rating: A-, young center who will continue to become a better hockey player on both sides of the puck and is able to succeed under pressure and in leadership roles.
