Houser named OHL's Most Outstanding Player

London Knights goaltender; Michael Houser (left) was awarded the Red Tilson Award for being the Most Oustanding Player in the Ontario Hockey League. This was the third season in the crease for the Knights by the undrafted 19 year old. He had an outstanding season, leading the team through the regular season and into playoffs where they are now facing the Niagara IceDogs in the finals. He third season was his best OHL season by far. He played in 62 games and he posted a record of 46-15-1, with a 2.47 goals against average, .925 save percentage along with 6 shutouts. He impressive backstopping helped the Knights to finish the regular season with the best record in the Ontario Hockey League. He tied the OHL single regular season record for most wins by a goaltender. Houser is the first goalie to win the Red Tilson Award since Andrew Raycroft did it as a Kingston Frontenac during the 1999-00 season and only the fifth goalie all-time to win the Red Tilson Award. Houser was also named the OHL's goaltender of the year.

Centerman; Michael Sgarbossa of the Sudbury Wolves finished second in voting for the Red Tilson Award. In 66 games played he scored 47 goals and added 55 assists for 102 points, along with 68 penalty minutes and a plus/minus rating of +21. Sgarbossa was drafted by the San Jose Sharks but was traded to the Colorado Avalanche at this seasons trade deadline.

Ottawa 67's, right winger; Tyler Toffoli finished third in voting for the award. He scored 52 times and had 48 assists for 100 points in 65 games. He had 22 penalty and a plus/minus rating of +31. Toffoli was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings, 47th overall at the 2010 NHL draft.

Mark Visentin finished fourth in voting. The Niagara goaltender who was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes, 27th overall at the 2010 NHL draft, had a great season between the pipes for the IceDogs. He took time away from the IceDogs to play in the World Junior Championships for Team Canada so he only appeared in 42 games. He posted a record of 30-9-2, with a 1.99 goals against average, .926 save percentage along with 10 shutouts.
