Grossman Extended

Yesterday the Philadelphia Flyers extended defenseman Nicklas Grossman by four years averaging 3.5 million dollars.

27 year old Nicklas Grossman was acquired by the Flyers via trade during the trade deadline period this year (February 16th to be exact). The deal involved the Stars sending Grossman the the Flyers for the Flyers 2nd round pick 2012 and the Flyers 3rd round pick 2013 (See Our Article On The Trade Here).

In his short time with the Flyers so far, Grossman has recorded no goals, 6 assists with 10 penalty minutes and a +/- rating of +5 in 22 games. Though getting points isn't Grossman's speciality. Grossman is classified as a defensive defenseman has has been proving that with his game. Originally thought to be a one of two hole fillers for Pronger's injury, Kubina being the offensive side, Grossman has obviously impressed the Flyers enough to be offered this extention.

Flyers Extension Rating: B, good young depth defenseman signed at a decent price.
